Lying at the heart of Val Rendena, Pinzolo is the tourist station that has maintained its strong features of a village rich in ancient traditions, uses and customs. Above all, it offers visitors the ancient custom of hospitality, warmth and frankness whose main feature is its characteristic parlance, the pleasant dialect of Val Rendena. Enclosed within the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello Presanella mountain, the village is dominated by the 2100 m high Doss del Sabion, which hosts the wonderful and sunny ski area from where you can see incredibly beautiful scenery. The network of slopes and lift facilities offer the opportunity of stimulating skiing days with slopes suitable for all skill levels: from the teaching areas (where the local ski schools instructors pay special attention to the youngest skiers) to the ‘black’ slopes to the specially equipped playing area reserved for young snowboarders situated at the bottom of a black run in Busa di Grual which is well served by a fast 4-place chairlift. The mountain commonly known by locals and skiers as “Doss” has become even more appealing with the realization of the “Pista Dolomitica” in the two variations of “Star” and “Tour”. A run truly worthy of its name that puts to the test the technical abilities and resistance even of expert skiers. It is a challenge to start from the top (2,100 m) and face a descent with rhythm and continuity and a change of incline (including some cliff faces with around 70% incline), turns and counterturns from the wooded areas which lead after nearly 6 km to the valley floor (800 m) from where the fast Tulot cable car takes off to bring visitors back up where nearby it is possible to have a well-deserved rest at the Cioca Alpine Hut. Also possible for visitors is a well-deserved half-day ski excursion departing from Doss del Sabion to the foot of the neighbouring ski area of Campiglio thanks to the connection with the brand new Express cable car. This is a comfortable and interesting trip through the high Val Rendena with the Val Brenta in sight and passing over ancient barns and haylofts until one reaches Patascoss right in the heart of the Campiglio ski area. The choices at this point are truly varied but always stimulating: a quick trip to Marilleva and Folgarida – the skiing stations in Valle di Sole – or a complete round of the slopes in Campiglio. And at the end of a day on the snow, it will be even more pleasant and satisfying to return to Pinzolo seated comfortably in a cable car often having the fortune to be able to admire the sunset with its magical light effects on the mountains giving time to plan a new skiing day along the 150 km of slopes in the largest network of the whole Trentino, a white paradise extending from Valle Rendena to Valle di Sole.
